SANDRA ENOS, FOUNDER AND CEO
Sandra Enos is a recently retired sociology professor who has been studying social entrepreneurship for last twenty years. She became a professor late in life and has been a student of social change all during her career in child welfare, corrections, higher education, and public policy. She is intrigued by the multiple paths to making the world a better place, whether through advocacy and community organization, conscious consumption, wise philanthropy, impact investment or other means. She founded Giving Beyond the Box after organizing pop-up marketplaces with the help and leadership of students at the university where she taught. These pop-ups featured social impact products and were highly successful, suggesting to Enos that there was a market for these products. Giving Beyond the Box was founded to explore whether consumers would be interested in products that supported informed gift-giving.
