THE HEART OF OUR HISTORY
Rumford Pet began in Herbert "Salty" Baker's basement in 1936 when he began selling tropical fish. Since then, the store has been passed down from generation to generation. These humble beginnings connected local pet lovers in the community.
The Baker family continues to expand the Rumford Pet paw print, throughout Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts, with an ever-increasing love for pets and their people at the heart of the business.

Rumford Pet, a Rhode Island landmark for over 85 years, offers a wide variety of natural pet products along with a team of dedicated and experienced staff to serve the pets and people of Southern New England. Rumford Pet also partners with several local rescue leagues and shelters to provide adoption days, where customers can adopt dogs, cats, and small animals in need of good homes.
