Block Island Coffee was inspired by a sister sailor who owns a coffee company in Tortola. We met while circumnavigating on a sailboat. My travels allowed me to taste some of the best coffees in the world. When I returned from traveling my children fledged, I divorced and I began the process of opening to new perspectives.
I opened Block Island Coffee and began selling at the Block Island Farmers market, local cafes, and small grocery stores; and it has grown from there! This year my intention is to market my coffee to a broader market.
Rainforest Alliance certified means the coffee bean farms meet three pillars of sustainability—Social, economic, and environmental.
