Business Overview

One of Rhode Island’s best sports bars, Snookers was established in 1989 by Stephen & Regina Goulding in the Jewelry District of Providence, RI. Since its humble beginning, the well-known billiards, sports bar & grill has since relocated to Ashburton Street conveniently located near Downtown Providence.

The original Snookers comprised of a pool hall with 20 pool tables, a game room and a snack bar that served concession-type snacks and soft drinks. After 5 years of success and the acquirement of a liquor license, Snookers transformed the game room into “The Green Room.” This was a popular Rhode Island hot spot that hosted many up-and-coming live bands and DJs, in addition to well-known acts. It became the go-to bar for city entertainment for many years.
